BookDrive DIY is a digital camera-based
book-scanning platform. It has the capability to capture
2 pages at a time using 2 overhead mounted digital
cameras.
To scan a book, just place it on the ‘V-shaped’
cradle and then press the ‘Capture’ button.
The right-hand camera will capture the left page whilst
the left-hand camera captures the right-hand page.
The resulting images are crisp, high-resolution, colour
images.
It is the fastest and easiest way to scan
a book.

curved pages and use expensive software to correct the problem,
but the images from BookDrive DIY are flat and do not need
that artificial software correction.
- Pages look their best: unlike most scanners,
images do not have shadow near the gutter. The system makes
sure that the centre of the book is always in the same place
so that all the pages have consistent borders and do not
have a ‘margin crawl’.
- Fast scanning: the system takes less
than 1 second to capture a page, regardless of the size
of the page.
- Simple operation: simply press a single
button or use the automatic ‘timed capture’
mode instead.
