Hugh and Lynda Scott would like to extend
you a very warm welcome to Windy Ridge Guest House in Wraik
Hill, Whitstable - the only local accommodation to
feature in the Good
Hotel Guide. |
Windy Ridge sits in a private garden on WRAIK
HILL, overlooking Whitstable, with panoramic views of the sea
and the fantastic sunsets for which the town - locally called "Sunset
Town" - is famed, along of course with its world renowned oysters
and other seafoods.
The extremely unusual architecture of the house, having been extended
over the years from its origin as two farm cottages, makes the hotel
a quirky place of real character.
Much reclaimed timber and stone has been used in the building to
retain its character & charm, which is reinforced by the beamed
ceilings and cast iron fireplaces present in many of the private
guest rooms, as well as the lounge and dining areas. The lounge
also benefits from a wood burning stove to keep the winter chill
out and makes it a very welcoming place to come back to after a
day out exploring the local area or from your business meeting.
Sky is also provided in the lounge area.
We serve an excellent fresh breakfast in our very pleasant dining
room, which has views of the garden, using largely, locally grown,
Kentish produce, including local eggs, jams, marmalade etc. Vegetarian
options are of course available and we can cater for special diets
too. Please let us know in advance of any special dietary requirements,
so that we can cater for your particular needs. Dinner may also
be arranged, with prior notice.
We are one of the few local hotels with family rooms, each with
a double and twin beds, some rooms divided by a partition to ensure
a good night's sleep for all.
We also have a bedroom on the ground floor, should you have difficulty
using stairs etc. Please let us know in advance if you require this
room. We also have a bedroom with a four poster bed, for the romantics
amongst you.
All ten bedrooms are en-suite (shower, basin and WC). Windy Ridge
has a beautiful private garden with stunning views over Whitstable,
Seasalter, the sea and surrounding countryside. There is a private
car park.
We are licensed for weddings, baby welcoming and renewal of vows.
The gazebo in the garden is a favourite for such occasions. We also
have a function room suitable for private parties. Catering is usually
tailor made for each event, but please feel free to request a sample
menu.
We are licensed to provide alcohol.
The M2 is very easy to access from here, as are Whitstable and
Canterbury. |
